What's so great about the river/lake havasu?

ok, we're a boat family and we go to Lake Tahoe every year. But always I hear from other people that they're going to the river and that they're gonna have a blast. I personally think that the river is for trashy people and there is so much rift raft there with drunks and again, trashy people. And to be honest, it's not even that pretty there. I absolutely love lake tahoe for it's civilized population and breathtaking scenery. What is so fun about the river? I don't think it's that great. What do you river people think about me "being too good to go to the river"?
