When you put your infant in daycare... is baby on a schedule?

I'm thinking about watching a friend's infant, part time, at my house. I have an infant myself. Going from one to two is a little intimidating... I can't imagine what it's like for daycares that have 10 or more babies! Do they keep them on their parents' schedule? If so, how is that possible? Do they create their own schedule and the parents just trust them? When one baby is crying... do they just let the other cry? I know they must have lots of help, but it seems chaotic! Anyone with infants in daycare, please let me know your take on it and how you like it/dislike it. :) Thanks!
